From our Neighborhood Watch

Hi, Neighbors,

One of our new neighbors on Sandstone Drive reported the following problem.  Please keep an eye out for unusual activities in our neighborhood, and report any real or suspected problems to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Bob Larkin, Neighborhood Watch Leader

Bob,

I woke up on Friday morning without internet. After much back and forth, Comcast/Xfinity sent a technician to fix my internet this morning since the problem couldn’t be solved remotely. What the technician discovered was that somebody had switched my cables, literally unscrewing the functional coax-type cable and screwing in a non-functional one on the exterior side of the house. He asked if I’d had any service people recently (apparently cable companies sometimes do this to each other when a customer switches services). I said no and then he asked if somebody hated me or had something against me. I’m new to the neighborhood and so I can’t think of anyone.

My experience has been that once a prankster picks you for a target the harassment tends to continue unabated until law enforcement or someone in some kind of authority gets involved. I’m worried that whoever did this will escalate matters, maybe causing property damage or even harming us. If we could somehow get the word out it would make me feel more comfortable so that everyone is vigilant and the perpetrator may be discouraged. If you have any suggestions about how to stay safe, that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
