Logging In
Apologies: for the last three months, our “Lost your Password?” link has been missing. A kind member showed us this yesterday, and it is now fixed. So, if you have had problems logging in, try again now. And do let us know if you have problems or questions. Thanks, — Your Webmaster.
Below are screenshots of what you should see. The blue circled-W logo you will see is that of WordPress, our website implementer. For security, password change operations are handled by WordPress.
First, go to https://hiddenvalleytucson.com. At the right end of the top menu bar, click “Login”.
On the Login page, select the “Lost your Password?” link…
The screen that comes up is a WordPress screen. All you have to do is enter the email address you registered with the HOA, and then press “Get New Password”. If the email address is correct for a member, you will receive an email shortly (usually, in under a minute) with a link to a page where you can reset your password.
Here, then, is a sample of the email:
(Why all this complication? To make it difficult for someone else to steal access to your account! Because your account has some of your personal information in it.)
The link brings you to the next screen, where you actually change your password. You don’t have to use the complicated password they recommend. Erase that and put in one of your liking, if you want. When you have a good password, press “Save Password”.
Once you save your password, you should get a message that your password is now reset. If you click on the “Login” link there, a WordPress login page comes up. Or you can click the link back to our website, and use our login page, as above.
The WordPress login page can be confusing. What looks most prominent is their special login. You DON’T want that. Go for the link at the bottom of the white block, to “Login with username and password”.
Last Step: Login with your email address and password…. Do NOT click the link to login with WordPress.com. This is basically the same as our login page, but with their branding instead of ours. It next takes you to our home page, hiddenvalleytucson.com.
And that should have you logged in. In another post, we will go over logging out, in case you have a shared computer. But for now, just know that clicking where it says your name in the upper right corner will get you there… Hope this was a help! Thanks.
