A Thank You to Those Who Do A Little More

When we released the Membership Directory feature nine days ago, it had a bug. Most folks couldn’t get any results. But I could not see this issue using each of several logins, so I was not aware of it.

It is fixed now. It was identified thanks to Rick Holladay, who for many years ran our newsletter and our web pages. Rick has also been one of our Beta Testers, like Gary Catren, Jackie Rylance, and Phil Biggs. Each of these folks still does us the courtesy of reporting every misbehavior he or she can see.

This is what makes our website and our HOA work: Community. Common Unity. Neighbors Together!

So this post is just to show appreciation for everyone who has helped by trying things out and telling us when they don’t work right. Thank you.

Imagine you are thrown into a situation where you are alone in the cockpit of an unfamiliar plane. Lots of information: gauges, labels, displays, numbers, indicators, notes and maps. Lots of control options: switches, levers, buttons, dials, consoles. You’ve driven a car, and you know roughly what planes should do. But you have no idea how all that relates to THIS plane, and how to make it fly right. That’s what it has been like taking over our website and data management.

So, when YOU see a problem, it helps us if you let us know. See a feature elsewhere that you would like us to have? Tell us that, too. That’s how we know what you want. That is how we can figure out how to fly this thing.

We can’t do this alone. It is not hard, but it can sure feel overwhelming sometimes. This isn’t my website or my database — it is OURS. I am only the custodian here, cleaning up, fixing things, keeping the system running right. What goes on in our HOA is up to all of us, and we who are on the team that keeps it going really appreciate when each of you takes an extra moment to help, to suggest, to report, to contribute. We make a good team together.

Thank you, neighbors!

  1. Thank You, HVOA Webmaster and helpers, for sharing your expertise and time on behalf of all Hidden Valley residents. This is indeed a special neighborhood.
