Look Over The Wall

One of our members wrote this and asked us to put it on the website. But, looking around my own part of the neighborhood, I can see we aren’t doing too well. Every property has dead trees and dead bushes that we need to remove. Pima County has a Defensible Space ordinance to encourage people to remove dead vegetation within 30 feet of their house. Moreover, civil cases have shown that property owners can be held responsible for debris on their property if fire from it damages a neighbor’s property. So why are we being so negligent? We don’t really want our more concerned neighbors to feel like they have to report us to the authorities to get any action from us. So let’s get things cleaned up because it is right to do. Dead and diseased (mistletoe infested) trees and bushes should be attended to.
