Volunteer Block Leaders Needed: Blocks 10 & 12
Hi Neighbors,
We are currently looking for volunteer Block Leaders for Blocks 10 and 12. I’ve attached a neighborhood map highlighting the two blocks so you can see if one of them is near you. You can also view it online here.
The Block Leader role is intentionally pretty simple. The goal is just to have someone who keeps an eye on what’s happening around their block and lets us know if they notice anything unusual or suspicious. You don’t need to patrol the neighborhood, confront anyone, or take on a significant time commitment. It’s simply another way for neighbors to stay connected and look out for one another.
This could be a particularly good fit for someone who:
- Is frequently out and about in the neighborhood
- Takes regular walks around the block
- Spends a lot of time in their yard or outside
- Has good relationships with nearby neighbors
- Is generally observant and familiar with what is normal on their street
- Is willing to pass along concerns when something seems out of the ordinary
Block Leaders are not an emergency contact or first responder. If you see something that requires immediate assistance or is happening in real time, please call 911. The Block Leader’s role is simply to observe, communicate, and help keep neighbors informed.
